Networks and mitigations
A manual mitigation cannot be started
| Message | Cause | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot change the manual mitigation setting while there is an ongoing manual mitigation. | A manual mitigation is already running for the network. | End the running mitigation and change the setting afterwards. |
| This IP address doesn't belong to the selected network. | The IP address entered lies outside the address range of the network. | Enter an address from the range of the network. Leave the field empty to mitigate the entire network. |
| Invalid ip. | The entry is not a valid IP address. | Enter a complete IPv4 or IPv6 address without spaces. |
| The network(s) couldn't be mitigated. | The job failed on the server. | Repeat the start after a short while. Before that, check whether a mitigation is already running for the network. |
If the Start mitigation button is missing entirely, manual mitigation is not enabled for this network, or your user account does not hold administration rights. Only the SOC can change either.
A mitigation cannot be stopped
If the portal reports The mitigation(s) couldn't be stopped., the server did not accept the job. Repeat it after a short while.
Note
Only manually started mitigations can be stopped. A mitigation triggered automatically ends by itself once the attack subsides.
